Deepest Longings

Continue to be soft and pliable in the Lord’s hands and out of that relationship will come the things that define you at the deepest level of your heart—revealing to yourself and others what you are really about—what moves you, motivates you, and forms your true longings. These longings come from God’s heart touching yours—resulting in the things that He will work in you and bring to pass through your life. (Based upon Psalm 37:4)

This entry moves me to tears, Mr. Lessin! Tears of Joy! I can just visualize myself being held ever-so-tenderly in my Abba's hands, as He looks at me ~ His work of art; His masterpiece! The knowledge that He cherishes and loves me unconditionally is an overwhelming truth that is so very awe-inspiring. Likewise, the image you have created here of giving ourselves willingly with an open and trusting heart to the Father is striking in its power! I cannot help but believe that you are writing from personal experience, yourself so overjoyed in order to write so beautifully and make the scene come alive! It is as if the thrill of offering yourself to your Abba Father that He may hold you, with such an experience so exhilarating you ~ being in the glory and awe of our Almighty God's Presence ~ that you had to share the wonder, the majesty with your brothers and sisters in Christ!

And how grateful I am! For I do "take delight in the Lord", and I sincerely believe with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength that "He will give me the desires of my heart!" [adapted from Psalm 37:4]. And I am willing to freely offer myself and all that I am to my Abba Father, from my darkest sorrows to my brightest joys, from my profoundest fears to my highest-level victories in Christ Jesus ~ my Glory and the Lifter of my head! [adapted from Psalm 3:3]. Yes! I, too, long to continue to taste and see that the Lord is good as I feel His comforting, healing hands holding me close to His heart. And be it a painful chiseling that needs to be done, or a gentle, joyful molding with a soft touch of the Spirit's breeze, I am willing to trust my Father in Heaven to create the woman He has etched permanently on the palms of His hands; the woman He sees when He looks at me now ~ not the woman I see when I look in the mirror. But knowing that she is there and being created moment by moment as I submit myself to my wonderful, awesome, majestic Abba is enough to make me smile and keep me smiling with the joy of confident hope that the Lord continually pours into my heart through the power of His Holy Spirit! For I do trust in Him and find my joy in Him! So to seek to know Him as intimately as He knows me is truly the deepest longing of my heart!

Thank you for the blessing of "Deepest Longings"

Amen and amen!
