Fret buster #33

Factor God into everything you do, into every circumstance of life, and into every decision you make.

Fret buster #34

Take “I can’t” out of your vocabulary and replace it with “God can”.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6

Your Highest Purpose

Your highest purpose is:
To know the GOD who formed you;
To yield to HIS ARMS that draw you;
To hear HIS VOICE that calls you;
To follow HIS WILL that guides you;
To trust HIS GRACE that keeps you;
To seek HIS HEART that loves you.

Destiny

It is good to walk the path of a pilgrim;
It is better to arrive at your glorious destination.
It is good to live the life of faith;
It is better to receive faith’s final reward.
It is good to overcome and persevere;
It is better to wear the victor’s crown.
It is good to live for Jesus day by day;
It is better to see Him face to face.

The Pot and the Potter

The clay pot said, “I feel so useless.”
The Potter said, “I made you for My special purpose.”
The clay pot said, “I am so common looking.”
The Potter said, “It is what you are in My hands that makes you beautiful.”
The clay pot said, “How can I be used, for I have a crack?”
The Potter said, “Cracks may come, but My skillful hands will restore you,
and I will keep you from ever being shattered.”
The clay pot said, “I have nothing to offer!”
The Potter said, “It is what I put within you that will make all the difference.”

Move On In Me

There is more to drink than what you’ve tasted,
Move on in Me.
There are more vistas to discover than what you’ve seen,
Move on in Me.
There is more to feast upon than what you’ve eaten,
Move on in Me.
There are more heights to climb than what you’ve conquered,
Move on in Me.
There is more grace to receive than what you’ve been given,
Move on in Me
There are more joys to delight in than what you’ve enjoyed,
Move on in Me.
There is more love to embrace than what you’ve experienced,
Move on in Me.
There are more blessings to come than what you’ve received,
Move on in Me.

The Voice of the Lord

His voice was like the sound of many waters. Revelation 1:15

God speaks. His voice is as loud as thunder and as soft as a whisper. His voice is recognizable to His children and as clear as a pure mountain stream. His voice is as soothing as the words of a mother speaking comfort to her hurting child; as assuring as the words of a father speaking courage to a fearful child.

God’s voice is like the sound of no other. It is a peaceful voice (Psalm 85:8), a healing voice (Psalm 107:20), a seeking voice (Genesis 3:9), a merciful voice (Numbers 7:89), a majestic voice (Psalm 29:4), a calling voice (Isaiah 6:8), an affirming voice (Matthew 3:17), a great voice (Revelation 1:10). We need to seek His voice, listen to His voice, respond to His voice, follow His voice, and trust His voice.

We do not need to avoid or fear the voice of God. Everything He has to say to us is true, is good, is loving, and is life giving. When His words are found we can eat them, for they are the joy and rejoicing of our hearts (Jeremiah 15:16).

C.S. Lewis shares the following experience his wife had in being reluctant to listen to God’s voice. “She was haunted all one morning as she went about her work with the obscure sense of God (so to speak) ‘at her elbow,’ demanding her attention. And of course, not being a perfected saint, she had the feeling that it would be a question, as it usually is, of some unrepented sin or tedious duty. At last she gave in—I know one puts it off—and faced Him. But the message was, ‘I want to give you something’ and instantly she entered into joy.”

When God spoke with Abraham He said, “I am your exceeding great reward.” Now that is the best thing anyone could ever hear. You need to hear that deep within your spirit today. You need to hear God speak to you. Put out all other sounds, all other noises, all other voices. Listen to Him as He says, “You are my child. You are mine and I give myself to you.”

The Cross and the Empty Tomb

The cross means that we can look back and be thankful;
the empty tomb means that we can look ahead and be hopeful.
The cross fills us with gratitude;
the empty tomb fills us with expectation.
The cross means that He died for us;
the empty tomb means that He lives for us.
The cross means that the old has passed away;
the empty tomb means that all things have become new.
The cross is the triumph of mercy;
the empty tomb is the triumph of righteousness.
The message of the cross is, “It is finished;”
the message of the empty tomb is, “I am alive forever more.”

The resurrection allows us to look up, to look forward, and to look ahead.
When we look up we see Jesus seated at the right hand of God,
when we look forward we see Him daily guiding our steps,
when we look ahead we see Him coming again for His bride.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ brings the assurance that the enemy of death has been defeated, our home in heaven is secure, and our inheritance will never fade away. How good He is, and how blessed we are to serve a Lord who is alive, who is above all, and who loves us with an everlasting love!

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ:

 Calms Our Fears
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking  for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here;
Confirms His Word
He has risen, just as He said.
Comforts Our Hearts
Come and see the place where he lay.
Commissions Our Lives
Then go quickly and tell His disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee.
Clarifies Our Vision
There you will see Him.’ Now I have told you.” Matt 28: 5-7

Because He Lives

If there was no resurrection there wouldn’t be:
A Savior who could save,
A King who could rule,
A Shepherd who could lead,
A Physician who could heal,
A Provider who could supply,
A Bridegroom who could love.

But because He lives there is :
A Redeemer who forgives,
A Lord who reigns,
A Warrior who conquers,
A High Priest who intercedes,
A Counselor who guides,
A Bridegroom who is coming for His bride.
